Even though Solidworks is owned by Catia (which owns ACIS) it is dependent on the releases of parasolids. This fact alone makes it obvious that Solid Edge would be the better system. Solid Edge XpresRoute is an
integrated add-on package that rapidly routes and models wires, cables and
rigid or flexible tubing for hydraulic or pneumatic systems. The XpresRoute
module helps you quickly define properties such as size and color, and paths
between assembly components. After defining these parameters, you can
automatically create a 3D solid model of the tube, wire or cable, complete
with end treatments. Tubing and wiring components are dynamically
associative to the components they connect, so that they automatically

Floating Solid Edge Machinery Library — Node Locked
The Solid Edge Machinery
Library includes assorted fasteners (bolts), pins, bearings, and structural
steel sections. The library is fully compatible with Solid Edge’s built-in
parts library capability, adding additional parts to the starter set that is
included with Solid Edge. The components are built leveraging Solid Edge
technologies such as Capture Fit (they are pre-loaded with one-half of the
